Former MCCA Clubs: Whatever happened to?

The page, 'A brief history of Middlesex County Chess Association' refers to the fact that at some stage it is hoped that a fuller history of the Association is written if so it will have to ensure it has entries for those clubs currently of formerly affiliated. Until this happens the following will have to suffice!

Clubs who are currently affiliated or still operate in the County if not affiliated have their own link on the home page. But what of former clubs? Whenever a County Chess Association has existed for a long period of time there are clubs who affiliate from the very outset and continue to do so, however there are many more who have come and gone. The following are clubs who were formally affiliated to the MCCA but have now long ceased to exist let alone be attached to the organisation.

Some of the clubs who were affiliated include:
BBC
Cedars
Edgware
Hampstead
Islington
North London Chess Club
(In time it is hoped that a comprehensive list of former clubs are presented)

It would be good to know what period of time they were affiliated to the Association and why they either left or now no longer exist, for example were Edgware eventually absorbed by Hendon?
