About Barnet Junior Chess
Barnet Junior Chess exists to promote chess amongst school children in the London Borough of Barnet and surrounding areas. We run a schools’ league and a jamboree for school Under 9 and Girls’ Under 11 teams. Schools entering these are expected to affiliate, the affiliation fee is £15 per annum.Barnet Junior Chess is affiliated to EPSCA (English Primary Schools’ Chess Association) and enters teams for the EPSCA Under 11, Under 9 and Girls’ Under 11 Championships. We run an Individual Tournament in January which attracts a large entry from all over London and acts as the final selection tournament for our teams. We also run a Girls’ Individual Tournament usually in November or December.
